Beer Wars Movie – Help Get The Word Out About This David & Goliath Story!

In America, size matters. The bigger you are, the more power you have, especially in the business world.”

“February 1st, Beer Wars became available to rent or buy to anyone in the US and Canada who has a TV or computer (or gaming console). The cool thing about all this is that it was made possible through distribution deals with Warner Bros. and Netflix. That’s right, these folks who know a thing or two about the film business, have chosen Beer Wars as part of their offering. After the long road it took to get here, this is a happy day indeed not just for me but for all the people who can now get to watch it.”

About The Movie: Excerpt from Beer Wars

Director Anat Baron takes you on a no holds barred exploration of the U.S. beer industry that ultimately reveals the truth behind the label of your favorite beer. Told from an insider’s perspective, the film goes behind the scenes of the daily battles and all out wars that dominate one of America’s favorite industries.

Beer Wars begins as the corporate behemoths are being challenged by small, independent brewers who are shunning the status quo and creating innovative new beers. The story is told through 2 of these entrepreneurs – Sam and Rhonda – battling the might and tactics of Corporate America. We witness their struggle to achieve their American Dream in an industry dominated by powerful corporations unwilling to cede an inch.

This contemporary David and Goliath story is ultimately about keeping your integrity (and your family’s home) in the face of temptation. Beer Wars is a revealing and entertaining journey that provides unexpected and surprising turns and promises to change the world’s opinion on those infamous 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Who Should Watch This Movie & Why Should You Care?

Here’s the deal…This movie is important and contains a powerful message that needs to be delivered, not to necessarily to craft beer lovers, but to beer drinkers and consumers in general.  I am disappointed by the lackluster support the Craft Beer Community has shown for this movie.  It’s point was not to preach superiority of Craft Beer.  Beer Wars was created to expose the corruption in the beer industry and to illustrate the struggles of independent brewers.  It’s as simple as that.  I for one, believe people should choose the beer they like, even if it is Coors or Miller-Lite.  It is not my job to judge.  I choose to abstain from drinking mega-brands but I am a bit of craft beer zealot 🙂 Everyone is entitled to their own individual taste and I don’t want to slam anyone.  Just sayin…

The issue here is about fairness, not about whether craft beer drinkers have superior taste.  But as craft beer drinkers, we have a duty to help spread the word.  If we want the craft brewing industry to grow, it is critical to expose the system.  The Beer Industry (i.e the corporate beer giants) is using the power of advertising dollars to block promotion of this film.  Think about it…Every network, talk-show and news program is held hostage by the influence of major advertisers and we know how much money the “mega-brands” are spending to brainwash American beer drinkers.  They don’t want people to see Beer Wars. They don’t want the truth exposed. Consumers deserve the ability to make choices based on personal preference without being brainwashed in the aisles of grocery stores.

I am just an amateur blogger with a passion for good beer, wine and food.  I promote craft beer to wine drinkers, mega-beer drinkers and martini drinkers alike.  I am happy to talk to anyone about the subject.  I am not prejudice and my intent is not to have them discard their current favorites, but instead to just open their eyes to new choices.  The guys at the  New Brew Thursday podcast use this same approach and I support them wholeheartedly.

So if we can’t get traditional mainstream media like Comedy Central, Jay Leno or The Today Show to promote the movie, we have to turn to the power of Social Media.  This is where we come in.  Each of us has a network of friends and contacts.  Some of us, even have contacts with some pretty influential “alternative media” outlets like Revision 3 Internet Television.  Scam School and like programing have amazing audiences. These are the people we need to promote this film. It’s time to ask for a little help from our friends….

The World Is Run By Those Who Show Up!  I am asking you to reach out to anyone that will listen and ask them to spread the word about Beer Wars.  There are some pretty amazing Wine and Food Bloggers out there that totally get the necessity for promoting independent business an artisan products.  Ask them for help spreading the word.  It is amazing how many people we could reach this way.

If we want to see future films about Craft Brewing, Beer Wars has to reach the masses.  Otherwise no one in their right mind will invest the money need to make a film if there is no hope of it being promoted.  If Beer Wars succeeds it will pave the path for more in depth coverage of the amazing world of Craft Brewing.  It’s as simple as that.

If you have not seen Beer Wars yet…please watch as soon as you can and please ask at least 10 of your friends to do the same.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read my post.
